Executive Function Coaching for ADHD Kids

Planning, time management, and organization skills are the hidden curriculum of school. For kids with ADHD, these are often the hardest skills of all. We teach them directly.

What executive function covers
πŸ• Time management and planning
πŸ“‹ Task initiation and follow-through
πŸ—‚οΈ Organization and prioritization
πŸ’ Working memory strategies
😀 Emotional regulation

Teaching the skills school assumes kids already have

Executive function is the brain’s management system. For kids with ADHD, this system needs direct coaching, not just reminders to “try harder.”

πŸ—“οΈ
Planning and prioritization

We teach kids how to break big tasks into smaller steps, use planners effectively, and decide what needs to happen first.

⏱️
Time awareness

Time blindness is one of the most misunderstood parts of ADHD. We use visual tools and practical strategies to make time feel real and manageable.

πŸš€
Getting started

Task initiation is genuinely hard for ADHD brains. We help kids develop reliable routines and low-friction ways to begin work without a battle.

🧘
Emotional regulation

Frustration, overwhelm, and shutting down are common. We teach kids to recognize their patterns and use strategies that actually work for them.

Signs your child may need executive function coaching

These challenges are not a character flaw. They are neurological. And they respond very well to direct, consistent coaching.

βœ“

βœ“
Forgets to turn in completed work
βœ“

Our coaching process

1
Assessment and goal setting

We start by understanding your child’s specific executive function challenges. Which areas are hardest? What does a good day look like? What needs to change first?

2
Building personalized systems

Generic planners and checklists don’t work for ADHD. We build systems tailored to your child’s brain, schedule, and what has or hasn’t worked before.

3
Weekly practice and refinement

Skills are practiced in real situations across sessions. We check in on what’s working and adjust the approach as your child grows and their needs change.

4
Parent communication

You receive updates on strategies your child is learning so you can reinforce them at home. Parents and coaches working together produces the best outcomes.

Common questions

Is executive function coaching different from tutoring?

Yes. Tutoring focuses on academic content. Executive function coaching focuses on the skills needed to manage that content: planning, organization, time management, and self-regulation. Many families use both together.

What age is this appropriate for?

We work with children from elementary through high school. The strategies we teach are adapted based on age, grade level, and the specific demands your child is facing.

How quickly will we see results?

Many families notice changes in 4 to 6 sessions. Executive function skills take practice to build, but progress tends to become visible at home and at school relatively quickly.

Can this be done online?

Yes. Executive function coaching works very well online. We use shared digital tools during sessions and can work with your child’s actual school materials and schedule in real time.
